Abraham & Mary Lincoln at Medallion Opera House

Distinctly different paths led Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd to Springfield, Illinois, where they met, married and began a family. The years that followed their move to the White House were filled with personal and national crises. Steve and Sharon Wood portray President and Mrs. Lincoln in this living history program, telling stories of their early lives and the challenges they faced during this turbulent time in our country’s history.

AMC Presents: Death in the White Mountains

Author Julie Boardman studied the scenarios of 219 hikers, climbers and back-country skiers who died in the White Mountains. In her new book and in this presentation, she sheds light on some of the surprising trends that led to these tragedies, with lessons for all adventurers.

The Sultans of String in Colebrook

Three time JUNO Award nominees and Billboard Charting band Sultans of String creates “Energetic and exciting music from a band with talent to burn!” according to Maverick Magazine.

Thrilling their audiences with their genre-hopping passport of Celtic reels, flamenco, Gypsy-jazz, Arabic, Cuban and South Asian rhythms, the group celebrates musical fusion and human creativity with warmth and virtuosity. Fiery violin dances with rumba-flamenco guitar, while bass and percussion lay down unstoppable grooves. Acoustic strings meet with electronic wizardry to create layers and depth of sound, while world rhythms excite audiences to their feet with the irresistible need to dance.

Tillotson Center Presents The Durham County Poets Concert

The Durham County Poets are five guys from Canada’s Chateauguay Valley who have played, and do play, in blues bands, gospel groups, Cajun, folk, rock and country bands. A collective blend of styles from Dan Hicks to James Taylor, the Band to Leon Redbone, theirs is a melting pot full of inspired tunes to enjoy. The eclectic group is made up of lead singer Kevin Harvey, electric and acoustic guitarist David Whyte, acoustic guitarist Neil Elsmore, double bassist Carl Rufh and percussionist James Preimel.
