Weathervane Theatre Opening Night — The King & I

The fifth collaboration of Rodgers and Hammerstein, the beloved story brings together the East — in the kingdom of the King of Siam — and the West — in the person of English tutor Mrs. Anna. The widow has journeyed with her son to teach the many children of the court, and their King, more of the ways of the western world. Set in the year 1862, their story is the universal truth that differences are moderated in the face of respect. Both manage to honor their own respective traditions and values, and yet Anna and the King grow to understand and, eventually, respect one another, some may say even love. Audiences of all ages have come to love The King and I, and we’re delighted to bring it back in our new production.
