LODGE TO HUT: FRANCONIA RIDGE

Highlighted by tremendous views and full array of mountain habitats, this adventure takes us across iconic Franconia Ridge, where we’ll find rare alpine plants and stunning views. We begin at AMC’s Highland Center for an initial meeting and a comfortable night’s lodging before we set out on the trail. Transported by van to the trailhead, we begin our trek to Greenleaf Hut via the Falling Waters Trail. We’ll hike along a beautiful mountain stream up steep terrain, coming out on the summit of Little Haystack. From here, we’ll make our way across the exposed alpine ridge, over the summits of Mt. Lincoln and Mt. Lafayette, and finally to Greenleaf Hut, on the shoulder of Mt. Lafayette. Our final day is a downhill trek along the Old Bridle Path, with great views of the ridge we came across, back to the trailhead to be met by the van and transported back to the Highland Center.
