Sunrise Drive – Mt. Washington Auto Road

During the three Sunrise Drives 2016, the Auto Road opens before dawn for cars, pickups and motorcycles to drive to the summit of Mt. Washington.

Sunday, June 19 – open at 3:30 a.m. |  Sunrise: 5:01 a.m.
Sunday, July 31 – open at 4 a.m.  | Sunrise: 5:32 a.m.
Sunday, August 28 – open at 4:30 a.m. | Sunrise: 6:04 a.m.

Due to the popularity of these sunrise opportunities, the Auto Road recommends not waiting until the last minute to arrive as you may spend time waiting at the Toll House due to traffic. The weather can change quickly so Auto Road staff stays in contact with the road crew for the best places to view the sunrise which may not always be on the summit.

The State Park building will be open with limited food service on all three of these mornings.
