Nansen Ski Club’s 2020 Annual Winter Carnival

An annual tradition, the Nansen Ski Club’s Winter Carnival is a family-friendly event with lots of activities for everyone!

FRIDAY, Feb 21 – BURNING OF THE GREENS BONFIRE & ICE SKATING
6:30p – 8:30p @
 MILAN ICE RINK (across from the Milan Village School)
Enjoy the stars by a blazing bonfire.  Bring along some skates if you want to glide to the music just steps away from the blaze.

SATURDAY, Feb 22 – 12 Noon: Bump Jumping! We’re building small, safe ski jumps out of snow for kids of all ages to get some air! Bring your own skis, XC or downhill.

1p – 3p @ THE BIG NANSEN SKI JUMP  ARTSLED RALLY! Nansen’s 2nd Annual artsled event!  Watch wild sled creations attempt to survive their run down the lower portion of the Big Nansen landing hill.  Or make your own sled and register for your shot to win a prize.  A bonfire and hot cocoa will be on hand to ensure everyone is toasty warm.

After the Art Sled Rally, there will be more Bump Jumping!

SUNDAY, Feb 23 – 10a – 1p @ MILAN HILL STATE PARK
COCOA, SKIING, SLEDDING AND SNOWSHOEING!
Come on out and visit the Warming Hut at Milan Hill. Check out all of the cool outdoor recreation available to folks in the North Country! Kids can enjoy activities with folks from the Tin Mountain Conservation Center and we’ll have warm drinks and good food to share!

The 9th Annual Nansen Winter Carnival gets underway this year from Friday, Feb. 22 through Sunday, Feb. 24, with plenty of activities and excitement for the entire family.

10:00 North Country Mushers Sled Dog Race- Stop by and see mushers and sled dog teams getting ready for their race.

Milan Hill State Park
10:00-1:00– Visit Nansen’s Warming Hut and enjoy cocoa, skiing, sledding and snowshoeing! Kids’ Activities with Tin Mountain Conservation Center and Food Vendors also available.

Big Nansen Ski Jump
1:00-4:00 Art Sled Rally! Make your own sled and register to race and win prizes for most creative, most wacky and fastest sleds. Bonfire, food and drink vendors.

Colebrook Kiwanis Winter Carnival

Highlights of this annual Winter Carnival are adult bocce tournament, children’s box sled races, dog sled rides, and more!

All events take place at The Colebrook Country Club. The schedule includes:

  • Pancake Breakfast from 7-10 a.m.
  • Snow Bocce Tournament, 8:30 a.m.
  • Kids’ Cardboard Box Derby, 9 a.m.
  • Builders Club Cornhole Tourney, 9:30 a.m.
  • Horse & Sleigh Rides, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Cribbage Tournament, 1 p.m.
  • 50/50 Raffle, with drawing at 3:30
  • Win a 49″ LG Smart LED TV. Tickets $2 each or $5 for 3. Drawing at 3 p.m.
  • Food concessions will be available all day. Outdoor activities are subject to change based on the weather.
