Thanksgiving Dinner at AMC Highland Center

Celebrate Thanksgiving with family or friends at the AMC Highland Center and enjoy a festive traditional dinner with all the trimmings — and without the cleanup!

The menu includes vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options in addition to the usual holiday offerings.

Begin with Winter Squash Bisque (GF, Vegan) or Potato & Leek Chowder (GF, Vegetarian); Field Greens with Fresh Cranberries, Goat Cheese & Candied Walnuts (GF, Vegan); and House-baked Bread & Assorted Dinner Rolls.

Entrees include Roasted Turkey with Classic Corn Bread Stuffing, Gravy and Rustic Cranberry Sauce; or Roasted Pork Loin with Caramelized Onions & Savory Roasted Apple Sauce.

Vegetable dishes include Sweet Potato, Kale & Black Bean Casserole (GF, Vegan); Roasted Autumn Root Vegetables (GF, Vegan); Green Beans with Roasted Garlic & Lemon Zest (GF, Vegan); and Roasted Garlic and Chive Mashed Potatoes.

End the meal with a slice or two of Traditional Cheese Cake with Strawberry Glaze; Apple Caramel Pie; Chocolate Cream Pie; Classic Pumpkin Pie; and Assorted Gluten Free Desserts.

Holiday Artisans Fair, Saturday, Nov. 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event features a variety of local artisans and crafters displaying their craft, demonstrating their process, and selling their unique goods. Visitors will have a chance to see the process behind the creations as well as a chance to buy unique holiday gifts. Vendors include jewelers, potters, knitters, knife makers, and more.

The Painted Sketch: Crawford Notch, Saturday, Nov. 25. 5 p.m. Artist Michael Vermette will give a gallery talk about his beautiful paintings of Crawford Notch. Light refreshments will be served.

Notch Hikes. Daily at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. During our Notch Hikes, you’ll spend 1-3 hours on an outing with an AMC guide to local points of interest. This weekend we offer family-friendly destinations including: Mt. Willard, Gibbs Falls, Elephant Head, Ammonoosuc Lake/Red Bench, Pearl & Beecher Cascades, and more.

Notch Talks, Daily at 11 a.m. Get a “snap shot” of the wonders of the outdoors through one of our hands-on, informal presentations. Topics include Skins & Skulls, Animal Tracking, History of the Notches, Geology of the Notches, Hiking Safety, Map Reading and Leave No Trace.

Kids’ Activities, Daily, Ongoing. Each day we will offer a selection of activities for kids, including Thanksgiving and Holiday crafts, Scavenger Hunts, Junior Naturalist, Cookie Decorating, and more.

Music in the Mountains with Fleur Des Lis

As part of its Thanksgiving in Pinkham Notch weekend, the AMC presents Fleur des Lis, with the musical duo Paul Cormier of Randolph, NH and Jeanine Loubier of Waterford, Maine. Join in for some toe-tapping music.

Thanksgiving with AMC at Pinkham Notch

Start a family tradition with the AMC at Joe Dodge Lodge and Pinkham Notch Visitor Center, Thursday, November 23 – Sunday, November 26. We start the celebration with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings. Then we will celebrate each day of the rest of the long weekend with a different theme. During the day Friday – Sunday, we will offer children’s and family-friendly nature walks, activities and day-hikes. Friday Night we will host a traditional New England Dinner buffet style from 5:30-7:30 p.m. followed by an evening program at 8 p.m. featuring New England style music with local musicians Fleur des lis.

Saturday night will be the “Best of” our International Dinner and Adventure series. Buffet style dinner from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Our Chefs will prepare foods from the past 20 years of International Dinner Series menus, offering 3 choices from soup to dessert from around the world. The evening program will feature one of our International Dinner presenters from the 2017 series: Bhutan, Land of the Thunder Dragon with Jack Holmes.
