Zoe & Cloyd will be performing at St. Kieran Community Center for the Arts on Saturday, March 17, at 7 pm. Zoe & Cloyd spring from deep roots in American music. Founding members of the acclaimed Americana trio, Red June, and long-time veterans of the Asheville, NC music scene, Natalya Zoe Weinstein and John Cloyd Miller released their second full-length album, Eyes Brand New, in spring of 2017. Eyes Brand New showcases the breadth of their collective musical spirit, seamlessly combining original folk, country, old-time and bluegrass with sincerity and zeal. Zoe & Cloyd’s debut recording, Equinox (2015), met with high acclaim and the pair has continued to gain momentum with a 1st place win at the prestigious FreshGrass Festival Duo Contest along with performances at MerleFest, Music City Roots and more.

Irish Folk Group RUNA at St. Kieran’s

Pushing the boundaries of Irish folk music, RUNA will be performing at St. Kieran Community Center for the Arts on Sunday, March 4 at 2 pm. Quickly gaining recognition as one of Irish music’s new “super-groups,” RUNA has been enchanting audiences by pushing the boundaries of Irish folk music into the Americana and roots music formats since their formation in 2008. Interweaving the haunting melodies and exuberant tunes of Ireland and Scotland with the lush harmonies and intoxicating rhythms of jazz, bluegrass, flamenco and blues, they offer a thrilling and redefining take on traditional music.

The group has been honored internationally, winning Top Group and Top Traditional Group in the Irish Music Awards and four Independent Music Awards including Best Live Album, Best World/Traditional Song and Best Bluegrass Song.

RUNA consists of vocalist and step-dancer Shannon Lambert-Ryan of Philadelphia, Dublin-born guitaris Fionán de Barra, Cheryl Prashker of Canada on percussion, Zach White of St. Louis on guitar, vocals and mandolin, and Maggie White of Kentucky on the fiddle and Mandolin.

St. Kieran Arts Presents: Ancient Voices — Dan Kennedy & David Rose

Dan Kennedy’s commitment to Contemporary Instrumental music goes back to the 1980s. Conservatory trained, he got his start playing evenings of improvised piano music at Oberlin’s Cat-in-the-Cream Coffeehouse. Heard on over 250 radio stations, as well as Pandora, Spotify, and Music Choice, his music has been in rotation on Sirius XM Satellite Radio ever since 2009. His debut EP LANTERN was produced by the legendary Will Ackerman, producer for George Winston, Michael Hedges, and Liz Story. His third and latest album BLOOM ROAD (2015) provides a scintillating coffeehouse-style set of piano driven music. It features guest artists Charles Neville on sax (The Neville Brothers, Ray Charles, B.B. King), David Rose on Native flute, and Greg Loughman (Patti Page, Philip Aaberg) on bass. BLOOM ROAD went to #7 on the ZMR Top 100, an American chart, and to #4 on the OWM Top 100, a British chart, where it also received nominations for 2015 Album of the Year and 2015 Piano With Instrumentation Award.

Dan is a professional pianist who has played 100 engagements in the last three years. In 2015, Dan was proudly elected to both Whisperings and to the Enlightened Piano Artist Network, putting him among the top 300 contemporary solo pianists in the world. St. Kieran Arts Presents: Classical Guitarist Matthew Lister

A classical guitarist from Dover, NH, with over a decade of professional experience, Matthew Lister performs regularly at public venues as well as at weddings and other private functions. Matthew studied classical guitar at the University of New Hampshire under the guidance of Professor Chris Kane, where he was a member of the University of New Hampshire Classical Guitar Ensemble. He was a regular performer at The Red Onion in Durham, and also performed at various University and charity events, both solo and as a duo with a variety of other student musicians. He graduated summa cum laude from UNH in May of 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Musical Performance.

Born in Pisa, Italy, Matthew moved to New England when he was two. He began playing violin and guitar while still quite young, and gravitated towards classical guitar in his early teens. His early influences included English folk master John Renbourn, American violinist Mark O’Connor, and Spanish flamenco master Sabicas.
