Dixville Notch Music, Arts & Crafts Festival

Taking place at Mohawk Falls- an idyllic event venue located at 1478 Route 26, Colebrook, NH, available for rental for weddings and functions.

Kick off Memorial Day weekend in the North Country by attending this family-friendly, artistic event featuring a full lineup of artisan and craft vendors, workshops, demos and live music performances!  Admission is free, with some fees applying to participate in workshops. Vendors and activities will be spread out across the property which is in a most picturesque natural setting, with highlights including a waterfall, ponds, gazebo and post and beam pavilion.  Be sure to head to the pavilion from 1-3 PM on Sunday the 28th when the very talented Kyle Anne Carey will take the stage to put on a much anticipated Gaelic-Americana concert.  Baker River Chainsaw Sculpture will also be doing live chainsaw carving demos throughout the weekend, which is captivating to watch.  Food and beverages will be available for purchase by various vendors, and it is a rain or shine event, so come prepared for New England weather. Ride the Mt. Washington Cog Railway

The Mount Washington Cog Railway trains begin running every day throughout the summer.

Take an exciting train ride to the summit of 6,288-foot Mt. Washington on the world’s first mountain-climbing cog railway. Experience a piece of history and exhilarating mountain views.

Mt. Washington Auto Road Guided Tour

Seasonally available May-October (weather permitting), Guided Tours offer a unique opportunity to learn the true nature and history of Mount Washington and the Auto Road. Driven by one of our accomplished and dedicated tour guides, your “stage driver” will offer stories, anecdotes, legends, history and insight into the ecological wonder of Mount Washington as well as point out interesting features and scenic opportunities from the base to the 6,288-foot summit.

2-HOUR GUIDED TOURS are available without reservation on a first-come, first-serve basis during regular Guided Tour hours. Online reservations are available for the 9:00am tour.

  • 30 minutes to and from the summit with our accomplished and dedicated tour guides in comfortable 12-passenger tour vehicles

  • 60 minutes on the summit to experience amazing views or exciting weather extremes; historic buildings, gift shops, and complimentary access to the Mount Washington Observatory’s interactive “Extreme Mt. Washington Museum”

AMC Presents Iceland: Land of Fire & Ice

Journey to Europe’s largest island to see volcanoes, glaciers, geysers, and scenic coastal landscapes. We’ll also learn about Iceland’s large populations of colonial nesting seabirds, such as Atlantic Puffins, Northern Fulmar, Arctic Tern, and Black-legged Kittiwakes. Presenter Mark Suomala has guided on four natural history tours to Iceland.

Mt. Washington Auto Road Opens to Treeline

The Mt. Washington Auto Road will begin its 156th season on Saturday, April 29 for guests to drive their own vehicles to treeline at 4,200 feet.

Operating hours will be 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. The 4.5 mile drive to treeline provides stunning vistas of the northern Presidentials and Great Gulf Wilderness offering a true taste of the Mount Washington experience!

A reduced rate of just $29 per vehicle to Drive Yourself includes: the famous bumper sticker and an audio tour on CD.

Safety considerations dictate that some vehicles cannot be permitted on the Auto Road please view our vehicle restrictions page before you visit.
