Ski with a Naturalist

In conjunction with the Appalachian Mountain Club, Great Glen Trails offers you the chance to really get to know Pinkham Notch, with a FREE tour (trail pass is required). When you ski with a naturalist, you will learn about the flora and fauna that make our corner of the world so special.

You’ll scout for tracks in the snow and learn about the different trees in the Glen. While listening for distinct bird calls, you’ll truly begin to understand how the ecosystem works in Pinkham Notch. Tours are FREE with a trail pass.

Winter Trails Day at Great Glen

Winter Trails Day is a FREE, one-day event where people new to snow sports can try snowshoeing and/or cross-country skiing!

To promote the health, fitness and social benefits of snow sports participation, we are offering free cross-country skiing lessons and snowshoe rentals to first-timers only on Saturday, from 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm.,

Minimum age for a free ski lesson on Winter Trails Day is 6 yrs, however any first-timer can snowshoe or try skiing for free.

AMC Presents: Intrepid Descent, A Documentary

Intrepid Descent, a film by Erik Osterholm and Zander Hartung, explores Mt. Washington’s Tuckerman Ravine, the mecca of backcountry extreme skiing.

Evening Snowshoe Tour

Experience the wonder of a night time winter walk. Join a Naturalist from the Appalachian Mountain Club on a guided snowshoe tour. We will use our senses (and no flashlights) to navigate the trails while listening for owls calling and exploring our senses.

Christmas Day Buffet at AMC Pinkham Notch

The Appalachian Mountain Club’s Pinkham Notch Visitor Center and Joe Dodge Lodge host a Christmas Day Dinner Buffet on December 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with a Fireside Social at 4 p.m. Call to reserve your spot at (603) 466-2721.

Choose from a selection of soups, salads, and vegetables, along with three mains: Dijon Rib Roast with Yorkshire Pudding, Slow Roasted Turkey Breat, and Wild Mushroom Ravioli in a Sage & Brown Butter Sauce. Desserts inclue Blueberry Pie, Spiced Molasses Cake, and White Chocolate & Peppermint Cheesecake.

Tickets costs $29 for adults, with discounts for members.
