The North Country Chamber Players celebrate their 40th Anniversary summer season with a musical bash featuring Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield.
The special family-friendly event features 22 fabulous musicians and ice cream legends, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, who will narrate Prokofiev’s beloved masterpiece, Peter and the Wolf. The program also includes Tchaikovsky’s celebrated Serenade for Strings and will be followed by a FREE ICE CREAM SOCIAL.

The North Country Chamber Players celebrate the inaugural concert of their 40th Anniversary summer season with a musical bash with special guests Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield.
The special family-friendly event will feature 22 fabulous musicians and ice cream legends, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, who will narrate Prokofiev’s beloved masterpiece, Peter and the Wolf. In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Mount Washington Cog Railway in 2019, the Mount Washington Cog Railway is partnering with premier New Hampshire organizations to celebrate New Hampshire’s innovation and finest handmade craft and products by New Hampshire artisans at the juried Annual Handcrafted in NH Fest. Participating in this event are members of the League of NH Craftsmen, New Hampshire Made, and WREN (the Women’s Rural Entrepreneurial Network). Artisans will showcase specialty food and skin care products, jewelry, glass, wood products, pottery and more.
This free weekend event takes place at the Base Station of the Mount Washington Cog Railway (located only 6 miles from Bretton Woods, NH) .

Ellen Schwindt, a composer and pianist, will share Music as Meditation, during this special event, the inaugural concert for the Kohler and Campbell Baby Grand Piano which is new to the Medallion Opera House.
Ellen began Music as Meditation as a way for her to share her newest music with listeners and to share a meditative spirit with attendees. The idea behind these concerts is to present music with its connection to human hearts and mind. Musical selections are presented in groups that flow into another, setting the stage for contemplation. Ellen intersperses familiar piano literature with many contemporary pieces and with her own improvisation. She frequently plays violin and viola as well. Come with open ears and a listening heart. You will not be disappointed.
For the July 9 concert, Ellen has programmed part of a Haydn Sonata, a Romance by Germaine Tailleferre, and Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. She will share themes from Music for a Resonant Space, the double concerto for violin, piano, and strings—a piece she is planning to premiere later this summer. The July 9th concert is free of admission. Donations to support the creation of more music by Ellen will be gratefully accepted at the door.
The concert is being arranged and promoted by Music in the Great North Woods, a non-profit organization which helped in the procuring of the Kohler and Campbell piano.
Bring the lawn chairs and the kids and enjoy a fine summer evening of free music at Service Credit Union Heritage Park on the banks of the Androscoggin River, just north of downtown Berlin. The evening features the music of northern New Hampshire musician Tim Dion.
