Celebrate all things Moose at the 27th North Country Moose Festival, an annual tradition since 1991! Held the weekend before Labor Day, this year’s festivities on August 24 & 25 include a moose calling contest, live music, artisan & craft vendors, as well as family favorites like horse & wagon rides, a dog show, and maple syrup tasting contest – not to mention the classic car show!
This event is the North Country Chamber of Commerce’s premier fundraising event, drawing thousands each year. It provides a venue for residents, second homeowners and tourists alike to enjoy old-time family fun as well as showcase the many diverse talents and services that are located right here in the North Country.

The acoustic jazz ensemble Rhythm Future Quartet has a straightforward agenda: to keep the spirit of Gypsy jazz alive and expanding in today’s musical universe. The virtuosic foursome, named for a Django Reinhardt tune, offers up a newly minted sound, influenced by the classic Hot Club of France, yet wholly contemporary. Led by violinist Jason Anick and guitarist Olli Soikkeli, the quartet performs dynamic and lyrical arrangements of both Gypsy jazz standards and original compositions that draw upon diverse international rhythms and musical idioms. With Max O’Rourke on second guitar and Greg Loughman on bass, Rhythm Future is dedicated to expanding the boundaries of a vital musical genre.Tickets are $15 adults, ages 13-18 are $8 and children under 12, $5.
