During November 23-25 and December 1-2 we will have some special guests on the train with us! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be welcoming Waumbek Wonderland passengers and kids will be getting a special gift. There will be all kinds of Holiday fun and games back at the Marshfield Base Station after the trip, along with complimentary hot drinks and cookies in the great room.

Trains depart 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 am. Family activities are from 10:30 -2:00 pm.  Visit us online to book the train ride, advance booking is recommended, seating is limited availability.

NH Highland Games & Festival

The New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival (NHHG&F) is one of the largest and most diverse Highland Games held in North America and the largest cultural event. This celebration of Scottish heritage is held the third Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of September each year at Loon Mountain Resort in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

While we are known for our traditional Highland Games, we are also an amazing festival! There are many family friendly activities and events throughout the weekend. Visit one of the 65+ clans in clan village, experience Scotland’s history, run the kilted mile race, take in a seminar, engage the youngsters in the youth program, or participate in a whisky tasting or other ticketed events.

Railway to the Moon Steampunk Festival — Cog Railway

The Railway to the Moon Steampunk Festival is Northern New Hampshires #1 Steampunk festival! Featuring all day events and activities, experience the uniqueness and thrill of steampunk with the vintage and historical Mount Washington Cog Railway as its backdrop! The event is Free to the Public with a optional paid special Steampunk Steam Train ride at 3:30 PM.

Featuring over 20 vendors and performers, the Railway to the Moon Festival is New Hampshire’s Premiere Steampunk Festival! Visit us in your best steampunk garb and enjoy a day of entertainment, unique and amazing vendors, ongoing train operations & more!

Special presentations by some of the biggest names in New England Steampunk will be going on all day long, with plenty of opportunities to take the perfect steampunk photos and then some! Special festival merchandise will also be available so you can take home the perfect Railway to the Moon steampunk gift!

The “Railway to the Moon” Festival is the Mount Washington Cog Railways’ tribute and appreciation of all steampunk culture. Featuring historic steam trains as the backdrop, the festival is a celebration of vendors, presentations, history buffs and outfits that will dazzle the eye. A free to the public event, the festival operates at the train yard of the Mount Washington Cog Railway.

Pollyanna Day

If Anne of Green Gables can get her own Netflix reboot, maybe our local literary heroine is due for a resurgence soon too. Snag a selfie with the Pollyanna statue (which turns 16 this year) and celebrate the Littleton-born character on Glad Day and all weekend long with events including live music and a production of “Pollyanna the Musical.”
