For several spring weekends (March 11, 18, 19, 25 and 26 and April 1), The Rocks Estate in Bethlehem, hosts the New Hampshire Maple Experience, with family-friendly events ranging from cooking with maple and tours of the Maple Museum full of decades of sugaring equipment to walks into the sugarbush, where visitors can drill holes in trees, insert taps and hang buckets.
Take time to linger in the sugarhouse, inhaling the sweet maple fragrance as the sap is reduced to syrup, enjoy a tasting with the traditional pairing of maple syrup, sour pickles and donuts, then climb aboard a horse-drawn wagon or a tractor for a tour of the magnificent 1,400-acre Rocks Estate where your interpretive guide will relay interesting facts about maple sugaring. Visit The Rocks Gift Shop before you leave and take home some sweet treats. Reservations are recommended for the Maple Experience Spring Tours, with walk-in visitors as space allows. www.TheRocks.org
