In Trouble: Search & Rescue and the Minimalists – AMC Evening Program

There is a developing third stream of incidents in White Mountains Search & Rescue these days, namely the retrieval (or not) of fit (and often experienced) minimalists, who find trouble when their long-distance plans get stalled by weather, injury, etc. These incidents are few in number, because the minimalists are very fit usually; they include the fast-packers, trail-runners, extreme-line skiers, linked-route climbers, etc.

Using a few incidents, guest speaker and author Sandy Stott will talk about this trend and facilitate a discussion about its implications for the future of the White Mountains and adventures therein.
