Stewartstown Day

Come for a day of old-fashioned fun, beginning with a Parade at 10 am. There will be music and vendors in the park all day, a soap box derby around 11 am, auction at 1 pm; games and bounce houses for kids; street drawings by budding artists; and an amazing day of fun for all.

Great North Woods Sled Dog Challenge

In February of 2014 the North Country Mushers hosted the first Great North Woods Sled Dog Challenge in Colebrook, NH. Our inaugural race was a great success and in 2015 the race increased to a three day, multi-location stage race.

Stage racing, a long-time popular concept in the west, is a series of shorter races that are hosted by a different community each day. Teams and mushers rest overnight between stages in the hosting towns, bringing lucrative business to local eateries, pubs, shops and lodging establishments. The cumulative times of each stage of the race are added together to determine the final winner of the entire race.

The 2018 race includes a 10 dog class, a 6 dog class and a skijor class (1-2 dogs), all with stages between 18-30 miles.

Note: This schedule is tentative and may be changed closer to the race!
