Come join us for a taste of homemade French cuisine. The breakfast, which includes crepes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins, breads and fruit, will be served cafeteria style in the main hall starting at 10:15 a.m. Coffee, tea and water will be included and mimosas and other beverages will be available for an additional fee.
Tickets for the breakfast will be $12.00 per plate and should be purchased in advance at the arts center office, by phone and on line at www.stkieranarts.org via the performing art series link.
At 2:00 pm, French Culture will be alive and kicking. New to the arts center is the high energy, men’s a cappella group, Musique a Bouches. Five male voices, firmly established as leaders in a cappella arrangements accompanied by rhythmical foot tapping, join together in a vibrant blend of harmonies. Musique à bouches explore traditional repertoire and take you on a voyage through traditionnel québécois as well as European traditional songs and folk singalongs.
Tickets for Sunday’s performance are $15.00 for adults/$10.00 for those under 18 and are available in advance (at the center office or online for a small fee) or at the door on the day of the concert.
If you enjoy retro-Rock music from the 1960s and ’70s and like to dance, the Great North Woods Committee for the Arts invites you to the Colebrook Country Club on Saturday, Nov. 3. That night local favorites Rock On will be turning out the hits from yesterday.
The show begins at 7 p.m. and the Country Club will have the dance floor down and ready to roll. Rock On features Jules Rancourt on guitar, Katie Rancourt on drums, Bernie Walling on guitar and Tom Jordan on bass. Jules has been a veteran of the music scene for decades, starting off with rock music of the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, exploring country music in the ’90s, and returning to vintage rock with the creation of Rock On. Jules is joined by longtime collaborator Bernie Walling of Bloomfield, Vt., who brings his surf guitar licks out in full force. Tom Jordan, a member of multiple area bands, holds down the bass lines, and the real fire in the group comes from the drumming of Jules’ daughter, Katie. Her aggressive performance of “Wipe Out” is always a crowd pleaser wherever the band goes. Expect everything from The Beatles to Bryan Adams to Creedence Clearwater Revival, and everything in-between.

Rec After Hours comes to Lancaster! The recreation starts at 5 p.m. with hiking and mountain biking followed at 6 p.m. by food and drink there at Mt. Prospect Ski Tow, Rte. 3, 2 miles south of downtown Lancaster. Come to have fun, be merry, and network with other recreation-minded North Country denizens!
5 p.m.: Hiking and biking on Mt. Prospect led by local aficionados. Meet at the parking lot. Tour the hut, yurt, and glades.
6 p.m.: Food and drink provided by Mt. Prospect’s own grill maestro Miller. Feather boas optional!
7:30 p.m.: After After Hours at the Copper Pig in the old Lancaster Bank Building at Main & Middle Streets in Lancaster.

Come to Remich Park in Littleton and try to navigate the 5K Zombie Challenge course without being eaten by a zombie!
Runners will navigate a 5K course wearing a belt with two flags. They can work with other runners to outsmart the zombies who will be chasing them through the course. There are “safe” zones and “Zombie” zones throughout the course. No pushing, shoving allowed. It’s basically flag football with zombies.
Food and refreshments supplied. Costumes are encouraged. All proceeds go to PRKR Trails.

The Gathering of the Jack O’Lanterns takes place over three days in downtown Littleton. Many events are planned, including the lighting of the pumpkins illuminating the Ammonoosuc River, from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27.

Participants are encouraged to bring a ready-to-carve pumpkin (scooped out); there will be a limited number of pumpkins available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- 11am -6pm – Deep Earth Arts Open House They’ll be opening their new studio space at 97 Main Street for an Open House celebration! Come by to check out our new space and all the different retail offerings we have. Josh will be offering 20-minute readings for $20 starting at 2 pm and we’ll be there right up until the Gathering of the Jack o’Lanterns begins at 6 pm!
