What is Grand Resorts, Grand Adventure?

"Grand Resorts, Grand Adventure" is the brand of New Hampshire's North Country. It began in 2007, after several snow-less winters and the loss of thousands of jobs due to a declining paper industry. Turning its focus to tourism, second largest industry in New Hampshire, the Northern Community Investment Corporation partnered with Roger Brooks of Destination Development, Inc. an international expert for rural tourism branding and marketing.

Brooks made his first visit to Northern New Hampshire in the summer of 2007 and discovered the historic and majestic Balsams Grand Resort Hotel. After that discovery, he became aware of the Mountain View Grand and the Omni Mount Washington Grand Hotel. With research, Brooks found that the three hotels were all located in Coös County, making it the largest concentration of Grand Hotels in any state other than Florida. The hotels, known for their beautiful architecture and landscape, many activities, and attention to customer service made them a part of the best the region has to offer. To accompany the hotels, Brooks and his team looked for more things that would be worth a special trip to the area and found the Grand Adventures.

The Grand Adventures are experiences that the visitor cannot get closer to home. There are currently eight Grand Adventures, with more being added every year. Each Grand Adventure is put through a strict vetting process for customer service and quality to make sure that it truly is the best the region has to offer.

The Team O'Neil Rally School and Car Control Center, one of the Grand Adventures, happens to be one of the only facilities of its kind in North America. Driving instructors take students through miles of dirt road courses to skid, slalom, and manuever their way toward expert driving abilities.
For the young and young-at-heart, Santa Claus is ready to hear Christmas wishes at Santa's Village in Jefferson. Looking for something to do during the winter months? Snowmobiling is a region specialty, with lodges, cabins and restaurants situated directly on the trails.

At night, after the adventure of the day, take a stroll down some of the region's quiet Main Streets. In addition to the Grand Adventures, there are also 22 "Certified Best of N.H. Grand" retail, dining, and activity-based businesses ready to welcome the visitor. These "Best Of" businesses are also placed through a strict vetting process for quality and customer service.
